Happy Friday, y’all! I’m trying to rush out the door to make it to Taekwondo lessons (Yes, you read that right. I’ve been taking lessons since December.) so this post will be brief, but I wanted to highlight some of my favorite things from the past week. Let’s not wait any longer!

|| ONE || Flower Love

I hope you got some flowers for yourself or from your loved one this past Valentines Day. I, for one, bought my own which is pretty much our understanding these days. I buy flowers probably every other week (or more) and I usually purchase them from Costco or Trader Joe’s. #BecauseInexpensiveYetBeautiful

|| TWO || Julia Reed’s South Love

Here’s one of my Valentines Day gifts. (Thanks, Honey!). I have read every single word of every single page + I just adoreĀ the book + the author. I could be a tad partial because Julia Reed is from my home state of Mississippi, but believe me when I tell you, she has some fantastic recipes, tablescapes, playlist + good ole entertaining ideas littered throughout the pages of this book of hers. Put it on your wishlist (or go ahead + purchase it here.)

|| THREE || Quality Time Love

On Valentines Day, the children + I baked two cakes, a strawberry + a red velvet. I had grand plans to create tiered cakes – ones that would look like a chess board when you cut into. Well, a few worked out, but when the children decided they wanted to use marshmallow cream rather than icing, the cakes started slipping off of one another. Womp, womp. They still tasted yummy, even though the presentation was lacking… I posted this on Instagram + tagged #FailButFun. Sounds about right.

|| FOUR || Southern Love

Another recent book purchase, The Southerner’s Cookbook, has a collection of pantry or fridge items that are found in a Southerner’s kitchen. I don’t know if I should be proud of this or not, but I had six of the ten items listed. I do, regretfully admit to not having ever heard of one item, Duke’s Mayonnaise. I even checked with my Texas friends + none of them had heard of it before either.

This was a problem that must be remedied and it was Amazon to the rescue. I had two jars of Duke’s delivered today, along with some White Lily flour, which I am very familiar with, but I have never been able to find it here in the Pacific Northwest. Bless you, Amazon.

|| FIVE || Swim Love

I don’t recall the last time I bought a new swimsuit. It’s not a yearly purchase I tend to make. But I saw this lovely Albion Fit Strawberry Daiquiri one piece the other day and fell in love. I think it has a lot to do with the ruffles. =)

My list of Link-Ups can be found here.

Have we connected on social media? Most often I enjoy posting on Instagram, but you can also find Honeysuckle Avenue on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Bloglovinā€™.

    I buy flowers for myself all the time but Corey knows I do like flowers from him on Valentine’s Day so he didn’t disappoint this year. That Julia Reed book sounds awesome, I’m going to have to check that out! I hope you had a great weekend!

      I loved it so much that I bought another one of her books, But Mama Always Put Vodka in Her Sangria. And I’m making one for her dishes today, Grilled Deviled Crab + Cheese Sandwiches. My mouth is watering already. I’ll let you know how it goes. =)
